Chronology of India – Proceedings of the two day National seminar held at Bangalore on February 18th and 19th 2019 [2]
Medieval chronology constructions by the European experts had affected Indian chronology much and thus reducing to c.320 BCE with the so-called Alexander’s invasion of India!
Technical – paper reading session: The first session was on “Indian chronology and its importance,” the first paper was “A Critical Analysis of “New Chronology” in the Indian context, implications and refutation.” It was a joint paper by S. Balakrishna Hegde and K. V. Ramakrishna Rao. А.Т. Fomenko, and G.V. Nosovskiy, the Russian mathematicians analyzing the medieval texts of Europeans, particularly that of Bible and showed that Ancient Rome, Greece, and Egypt as we know them didn’t exist at all and Jesus lived and died in the 12 century CE. Fomenko argues that most Eurasian history between the third and 11th centuries CE was concocted by historians of the 13th-17th centuries CE. who created a false record of those prior centuries by filling that record with variations of events that were happening during the 13th-7th centuries. The famous Eposes-chronicles “Mahabharata” and “Ramayana” were copied from the Russians. The remarks of А.Т. Fomenko, and G.V.Nosovskiy on Ramayana is shocking, “The tale about Rama” or “The Small Ramayana” in “The Mahabharata” tells about colonization of India by the Aryans. The bright traces of the North origin of the Aryans, which remained in the Mahabharata. The great Battle of Kulikovo of 1380 is described in “the ancient” Mahabharata as the great battle on the Kuru field.” Therefore, it was refuted taking the earlier researches of C. F. C. Volney[1], J. M. Robertson[2] etc.
“A Critical Analysis of “New Chronology” in the Indian context, implications and refutation.” It was a joint paper by S. Balakrishna Hegde and K. V. Ramakrishna Rao. Hegde presenting the paper:
S. Balakrishna Hegde presenting paper………………………..
KVR Rao, S.B.Hegde and chair-person on the stage….
Balakrishna Hegde was given a memento……………………………….
K. V. Ramakrishna Rao was responding to different questions………………………………..
Proof for the existence of Krishna: Interestingly, many questions were asked and K. V. Ramakrishna Rao was responding. S. R. Krishna Murthy was stressing that long back Jesus Christ came to India, died in India, his tomb was at Kashmir…… and therefore, those facts cannot be ignored. When pointed out that they were myths floated based on the Nicolas Notovitch’s book “Unknown life of Jesus Christ,” a fraudulent work, he did not accept, but arguing his point[3]. At one stage, he asked, “what were evidences to prove the existence of Rama, Krishna etc”. For Krishna I pointed out that –
- the first known representations of Vedic deities on coins, issued by the Bacterian king Agathocles, and they display early Avatars of Vishnu: Balarama-Sankarshana with attributes consisting of the Gada mace and the plow, and Vasudeva-Krishna with the Vishnu attributes of the Shankha (a pear-shaped case or conch) and the Sudarshana Chakra wheel.
- Then, I pointed out about the Heliodorus pillar is a stone column that was erected around 113 BCE in central India in Vidishanear modern Besnagar, by Heliodorus, an Indo-Greek ambassador … The pillar was surmounted by a sculpture of Garuda and was dedicated by Heliodorus to the god Vāsudeva in front of the temple of Vāsudeva.
- Of course, I also mentioned about S. R. Rao’s Dwaraka’s excavation, two Chitorgarh District inscriptions mentioning the Krishna worship existing before current era. The Ghosundi and Hathhibada inscription of c.100 BCE refer to a temple of Samskarsana and Vasudeva[4].
But, still he was sticking to “Jesus came to India” hypothesis, theory or his belief.
Agathokles issued coins with Krishna and Balarama sated to c. 190-180 BCE.
Hathbada inscription recorded the Sankarshana-Vasudeva worship dated to c.1st cent BCE.
Gosundi inscription mentioning Bhagawan Shankarshana worship………………………
Nanaghat cave inscription, Garuda column of Besanagar refer to Bhagawata / Vasudeva worship dated to 1st cent BCE.
In spite of all the evidences, S. R. Krishna Murthy was not heeding to, but, questioning the historicity of Krishna, Rama etc…….However, he was sticking to his “Jesus in India myth”…………………Really, it was intriguing!
Forts of Karnataka: Nearly six papers were presented “Forts of Karnataka,” touching the same subject, overlapping and embracing that appeared already planned so. Moreover, in medieval period, there is no chronological issue, as much of the history has been relied upon the Moghul and British and other colonial documents. Sunandha Jamadgni repeated the stuff already well-known and published about “Bharatiya kalagagana” (Indian chronology) without any numbers, dates or data, only abstract and descriptive and that too, general in Hindi.
This particular paper presenter went on describing so many things other than chronology………………..though he was requested by the chair and the convener, he did not care………………………………
Chandragiri Fort: Chandragiri Fort is a fort built in the 17th century, situated in Kasaragod District of Kerala, South India. This large squarish fort is 150 feet (46 m) above sea level and occupies an area of about seven acres by the side of the river Payaswini. The fort is now in ruins. The fort has an eventful history. In earlier days, the river was considered to be the border of two powerful kingdoms – Kolathunadu and Thulunadu. When Thulunadu was captured by the Vijayanagara Empire, the Kolathunadu kings lost the Chandragiri region to them. During the decline of the Vijayanagara Empire, the area was administratively looked after by the Keladi Nayakas of Ikkeri. When the Vijayanagara Empire fell in the 16th century, Vengappa Nayaka declared independence. Later Shivappa Nayaka took over the reins. He built a chain of forts of which Chandragiri is part.
Bekal fort: During the Perumal Age Bekal was a part of Mahodayapuram. Following the decline of Mahodayapuram Perumals, Bekal came under the sovereignty of the Mushika or Kolathiri or Chirakkal Royal Family in the 12th century. The maritime importance of Bekal increased under the Kolathiris and Malabar became an important port town. After the Battle of Talikota in 1565 feudatory chieftains including the Keladi Nayakas (Ikkeri Nayaks) became powerful in the region. Bekal served as a hub to first dominate, then later defend Malabar. The economic importance of this port town prompted the Nayakas to fortify Bekal subsequently. Hiriya Venkatappa Nayaka initiated the construction of the fort and it was completed in 1650 CE by Shivappa Nayaka. Chandragiri fort near Kasargod was also build during this period. The struggles between the Kolathiries and Nayaks to hold this area ended when Hyder Ali conquered the Nayakas and Bekal fell into the hands of Mysore kings. It was an important military station for Tipu Sultan when he led a military expedition to capture Malabar. The coins and artefacts found in archaeological excavations at Bekal fort indicate the strong presence of Mysore Sultans. Tipu Sultan’s death during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War ended Mysorean control in 1799. The fort came under the British East India Company’s control and became the headquarters of the Bekal Taluk of South Canara District in Bombay presidency. The political and economic importance of Bekal and its port declined. Nearby the Mukhyaprana Temple of Hanuman and ancient Muslim mosque bear testimony to the religious harmony that prevailed in the area.
Narahari Padke, in between was passing remarks about Hungary was land of Huns, in Hungary language Cholas were mentioned as “Choras” and so on. Of course, he told the relation between German and Sanskrit trough the words – fithr, mithr, etc. Of course, researchers pointed out about other words as – gribh [garbh], gripan [greifen], begreifen [to understand, perceive, ]rad [rath, chariot], Achse [aksha, axle] etc[5]. There was some connection between Maharastra and Vatakata Kings, and they were related to Kadambas. Obviously, he was repeating such ideas from P. N. Oak and others. Interestingly, many of the P. N. Oak findings are used by the BISS researchers, but they do not give references to his books and proceed, as if they discovered.
This was taken from the Bhatnagar book……by Krishna Murthy…..!
Date of Valmiki Ramayana – 7117 YBP – S. R. Krishna Murthy: He accepted that he used the material taken from I-Serve[6] and Bharat Gyan[7]. Ironically, they themselves have take from other sites. To cite one example, Sh. Pushkar Bhatnagar of Indian Revenue Service had acquired from USA the software named ’Planetarium Gold’ (of Fogware Publishing) which is used to predict the solar/lunar eclipses and distance and location of other planets from earth by the scientists and astronomers[8]. Maharishi Valmiki has recorded in Bal Kand Sarga 18 and Shloka 8 & 9 (1/18/8, 9) that Shri Rama was born on 9th tithi of Chaitra month during day time when the position of different planets vis-a-vis zodiac constellations and nakshatras (visible stars) was as under:
- Sun in Aries
- (ii) Saturn in Libra
- (iii) Jupiter in Cancer
- (iv) Venus in Pisces
- (v) Mars in Capricorn
- (vi) Lunar month of Chaitra
- (vii) Ninth day after no moon
- (viii) Lagna as Cancer (Cancer was rising in the east)
- (ix) Moon on the Punarvasu (Gemini constellation and Pollux star)
This data was fed into the ‘Planetarium Gold’ software, the results indicated that this was exactly the location of planets/stars vis-a-vis zodiac constellations on the 10th of January noon time in the year 5114 BC if viewed from latitude/ longitude of Ayodhya (25°N 81°E). Thus Shri Rama was born on 10th January in 5114 BC (i.e. 7117 years back). He added the following equation:
But, he did not take out the constants out! Thus, he tried to present already available date of Rama, as if in a “mathematical” garb, that is not. Ironically, in one slide, he claims that re relied upon the evidences available Bible, Quaran etc. Claiming that Rama lived for 45,000 years, he finally gives date of Rama as 21,12,994 years ago.
Incidentally. for the last 150 years, these dates have been derived and mentioned in thousands of research papers and hundreds of books, yet, when somebody comes out with the same dates, he / she does not acknowledge the preceding researchers!
N. Narasinga Rao derived the date astronomically without any computer aided calculations….his book shown on LHS.
In 2003, Saroj Bala also claims the same date[9]. However, for the last 200 years, there have been books, where, such dates have already been given. Therefore, these researchers only have been trying to present under “scientific” garb, but, they are not correct. Above all, he also blurted out that the Vedas claimed about Jesus, Mohammed etc., as found in the Bhavisya Puranam, but, it has been a fake Purana manufactured during the Moghul period under the guise of Purana. Ironically, the same octogenarian was stressing in the morning that Rama, Krishma etc., were myth! The attitude of such researches, their purpose and purport of contradicting stands etc., have been intriguing.

[3] The abbot of the monastery gave an interview through an interpreter to a British official in which he vehemently denied Notovitch’s claims: “Lies, lies, lies, nothing but lies!” Müller felt emboldened to write an afterword to his article and denounce Notovitch as a charlatan, describing the new evidence as “a complete refutation, or, I should rather say, annihilation” of the Russian’s story.
[4] According to Dr. Bhandarkar, earliest epigraphic reference to the ?;orship of Samkarshana and Vasudeva occurs in an inscription found at Ghosundi near Chittor in Rajasthan. This inscription records about the erection of a stone enclosure (puja-sila-prakara) at 5 a site called Narayana vataka.
